5,088 landless families to get semi-pucca houses in Khulna

KHULNA, Jan 3, 2021 (BSS) – A total of 5,088 landless families of the district will get semi-pucca houses as a gift from the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the occasion of ‘Mujib Barsho’.

The houses will be built in different government ‘khas land’ in nine upazilas of the district.

On behalf of Ashrayan Project-2 of the Prime Minister’s Office, the government is constructing 922 semi-pucca houses for landless people in the district in the first phase.

Talking to BSS, Additional deputy commissioner (Revenue) Ziaur Rahman said Khulna district administration has prepared a list of 5,088 land and homeless poor people for giving them semi-pucca houses as the gift of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

In the first phase, a project has been taken to get houses of 922 landless people in the district, he said.

Khulna deputy commissioner Md Helal Hossain told BSS “I visited the progressing work of the houses in Rupsha upazila on December 31 and we will distribute the houses among the landless people very soon”.

“It’s a great presentation for the land and houseless people from the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the occasion of the ‘Mujib Barsho’,” he said, adding that at least 35 semi-pucca houses out of 72 has already been completed in Rupsha upazila.
