Bourses bounce back

DHAKA, Dec 21, 2020 (BSS) – Country’s both the bourses, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) bounced back today after three days break.

At DSE, the broad index, DSEX settled at 5,115.20 points with a gain of 40.61 points or 0.80 percent. Besides, two selective indices, Blue Chip index, DSE30 and Shariah index, DSES also went up by 24.08 points and 12.50 points to settle at 1,818.21 points and 1182.91 points respectively.

On the other hand, DSE’s turnover, a crucial indicator of the market, stood at Taka 11.37 billion from Taka 8.60 billion in the previous session.

Losers took lead over gainers as out of 356 issues traded, 130 securities gained price while 146 declined and 80 remained unchanged.

The top five gainers were CRYSTALINS, Ifad Autos, NFML, BNICL and Beximco.

Beximco Limited topped the turnover chart followed by Beximco Pharma, Peoples Insurance, IFIC and Rupali Insurance.

The top five losers were MIRACLEIND, Premier Cements, EIL, Dafodil Computer and RENWICKJA.

On the other hand, port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also returned to gaining trend from bearish streak of previous three sessions.

CSCX and CASPI rose by 88.40 points and 144.29 points to stand at 8883.02 points and 14,738.69 points respectively.
