SYLHET, Sept 21, 2017 (BSS) – Two people were killed and three others injured in a road accident in Chatuya Bazar area on Sylhet-Sunamganj road in Chhatak upazila of the district last night.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Karim, 60, of Jawya Laxmansom area in the upazila and Abdul Haque, 35, son of Junab Ali, resident of Jamok village in the same upazila.
In-charge of Jawya police camp (investigation) Nirmalendu Deb, said the accident occurred around 8pm in the area when a pickup van collided head on with a passenger bus from opposite direction, leaving two people dead on the spot and three others injured.
The injured were admitted to local clinic, police said.
Police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies and sent to Sunamganj Hospital for autopsy.
Police also seized the bus and pickup van from the spot.
