DHAKA, Dec 14, 2020 (BSS) – Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Member Secretary of Bangabandhu Awami Bar Council, Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, today urged the people to remain vigilant till the communal and fundamentalist forces are completely eradicated from Bangladesh.

He made the call while talking to reporters after paying homage to the martyred intellectuals at the Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals Memorial on the first morning of Martyred Intellectuals Day today (Monday), said a release.

He said, “We notice that fundamentalist reactionary forces, communal forces are still present in the soil of Bengal and whenever they get a chance, they are trying to bite like snakes and trying to destroy the consciousness of the liberation war.”

So, until this communal force, the radical force, is completely eradicated from Bangladesh, he urged all to be more vigilant.

Taposh further said, “We have got freedom in return for the sacrifices of three million martyrs including martyred intellectuals. Their sacrifices have raised their heads today under the able leadership of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.”

Today’s Bangladesh is a shining example of our own funding for the construction of the Padma Bridge. This martyred Bangladesh must be seeing the martyred intellectuals moving from heaven to heaven in return for their sacrifices.

The DSCC mayor further said, “On this day in 1971, we have lost the best citizens of the nation.” I pay my respects to their memory.

Among others, DSCC Chief Executive Officer ABM Amin Ullah Nuri, Secretary Akramuzzaman, Regional Executive Officers were present, among others.
