Mozammel lauds FF’s role in country’s glorious independence

DHAKA, Dec 9, 2020 (BSS) – Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM
Mozammel Haque today lauded the role of freedom fighters’ in the
country’s great liberation in 1971, saying their courageous acts had
thwarted the heinous crimes of Pakistani forces and their allies.

“The fearless heroic freedom fighters risked their lives to defeat
them in a bloody nine-month war and snatched the independence of
Bangladesh,” he said.

He was addressing as the chief guest at a rally organized on
Kapilmuni Sahachari Vidyamandir School and College premises marking
the historic ‘Mukto Dibosh’ of Kapilmuni, the top commercial place of
South Bengal.

Mozammel Haque said the countrymen are now enjoying the benefits of
the hard-earned independence.

He said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman
delivered the historical speech on March 7 and in continuation of that
the country was liberated and ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by Bangabandhu
will not be allowed to be lost in any way.

The allies of the defeated Pakistani forces are still in the country
and they would rise up whenever they get a chance, he said, adding
that for this, all pro-liberation forces have to be united to deal
with the ill-forces.

He said the anti-liberation forces want to halt the Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina’s groundbreaking development spree. There is no room for
terrorism, militancy and extremism in this country, he added.

He said they are liars who gave order for demolition of sculptures
on the pretext of Islam. Talking about BNP, he said that BNP insulted
the great independence by making the anti-independence Jamaat leaders
Nizami and Mujahid ministers and hoisting flags on their cars.

He said the country is marching towards a unique height of
development by uprooting all the evil forces under the leadership of
Sheikh Hasina.

The minister said that besides preserving the Kapilmuni battlefield,
an integrated action plan will be adopted for the protection and
development of the history and heritage of Kapilmuni established by
the late Roy Saheb Binod Bihari Sadhu.

With Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education) Sadequr Rahman in
the chair, the programme was conducted by Upazila Awami League Joint
Secretary Anand Mohan Biswas.
