Media work as bridge between govt and people: Faridul

DHAKA, Dec 1, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Religious Affairs Md.
Faridul Haque Khan today said journalists act as a bridge between the
government and the people by apprising the people of government’s
efforts and services and presenting people’s aspirations to the
government.

He said this when a delegation of Religious Reporters’ Forum (RRF)
paid a courtesy call on him at his secretariat office, said a press
release.

The state minister sought the journalist’s cooperation and
constructive suggestion in providing services to the people.

Khan said the ministry has attained remarkable success in hajj
management at the directives of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He said the construction of a total of 560 model mosques and Islamic
cultural centers across the country is going on as a priority project.

Besides, children are being given respective religious education
through religious institution-based children education and mass
education programme.

The state minister said sculptures and idols are not same and there
is a misunderstanding over the issue.

He urged all to refrain from making provocative and inciting
comments and statements over the issue.

Khan said consciousness raising campaign against terrorism and
militancy will be continued while inter-religious dialogues will be
arranged with the participation of representatives of all religions to
keep intact the communal harmony.

Led by RRF President Fayez Ullah Bhuiyan and General Secretary
Obaidullah Badal, forum’s executive committee greeted the newly
appointed state minister with a bouquet.
