RAJSHAHI, Nov 30, 2020 (BSS) – Two alleged members of an inter-district fraud gang were arrested along with Taka 76,000 in cash from Laxmipur crossing area under Rajpara Police Station in the city last night.
According to the police sources, the arrestees were identified as Hassan Khan, 19, son of Abdul Khan of Jangalpasha village and his co-villager Mahmud Hassan alias Bayazid, 20, son of Nur Muhammad Sheikh, under Bhanga Upazila in Faridpur district.
On a tip-off, a Detective Branch team of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) conducted a sudden raid in the area and arrested them with the cash money red-handed around 8.30 pm.
The arrested persons were involved in cheating with young girls in the name of making love affairs, police sources said.
They used to collect money from the girls through b-cash accounts tactically, said Ruhul Quddus, Additional Deputy Commissioner of RMP.
A case has been lodged with Rajpara Police Station under Digital Security Law in this connection and the arrested persons were handed over to police this morning.
