DHAKA, Nov 28, 2020 (BSS) – Prime Minister’s Private Industry and
Investment Adviser and Dhaka-1,MP, Salman Fazlur Rahman today warned
that there is no place for drug dealers, terrorists, occupiers and
militancy in Awami League.

He made the remarks while addressing a meeting of the newly formed
convening committee of Nawabganj Upazila Awami League at Abdul
Wasek Auditorium in Dhaka’s Nawabganj, said a press release.

Salman F Rahman said everyone must be alert so that no drug dealing,
terrorism and militancy get place in the party.

“And for that, first of all, we have to select Awami League members in a
coordinated way based on transparency. After collecting the
members data, a database needs to be created. Once the database is there,
it can be determined whether unethical members are joining the committee,”
he added.

He said Awami League leaders have to keep their eyes on the committees
of the affiliated organizations.

It is important to form a full committee by coordinating with them and
discussing with the district or central leaders, he added.

He said “We have to organize the party before the next election.
Remember, we cannot win solely with the votes of Awami League. Most of the
voters are neutral. So, we need to gain more public support. Besides, before asking votes to the BNP hardliners we have to place before them the development works carried out by AL government. Only then, we can win the next election,” he added.
