CHATTOGRAM, Nov 28, 2020 (BSS) – Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Tajul Islam today said Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is sincere about the development of Chattogram.
“Everyone should work for further development of Chattogram. Development of Chattogram means the development of the whole country. The facilities for development of Chattogram are being increased,” he added.
He was speaking as the chief guest at a discussion on ‘Development and Industrialization of Chattogram ‘ organized by the Chattogram Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) at Bangabandhu Conference Hall of the World Trade Center here.
President of Chattogram Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mahbubul Alam presided over the discussion while Secretary of the Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Ministry Helal Uddin, Administrator of the Chattogram City Corporation Khurshed Alam Sujan, Chairman of Chattogram Development Authority Zahurul Alam Dobas, divisional Commissioner ABM Azad, Deputy Commissioner of Chattogram Ilias Hossain, Managing Director of Chattogram WASA AKM Faizullah , Chairman of Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) Paban Chowdhury and Member (Admin) of Chattogram Port Authority Zafar Alam, among others, were present in the function.
Referring to the development projects in Chattogram, Tajul Islam said many projects are underway in Chattogram, including Mirsarai Industrial Zone. Construction works of many projects including the Outer Ring Road is moving fast, he said.
In addition, a marine drive rout from Mirsarai to Cox’s Bazar could be proposed and there is plan for establishing a bay terminal in Chattogram, he added.
