DHAKA, Nov 25, 2020 (BSS) – The High Court (HC) today summarily rejected a writ filed by a lawyer challenging the virtual court proceedings.

A High Court virtual bench of Justice Jahangir Hossain and Justice Md Badruzzaman passed the order after holding a hearing on the matter this morning.

Attorney General AM Amin Uddin and Deputy Attorney General Dr Md Bashir Ullah took part in the hearing for the state, while petitioner advocate AKM Asiful Haque moved the petition himself.

“Virtual court proceedings are taking place in different countries including neighbouring India amid the corona virus situation. So, we are not seeing any necessity to issue a rule regarding the matter,” Deputy Attorney General Dr Md Bashir Ullah told newsmen.
