DHAKA, Nov 24, 2020 (BSS) – Acting Editor of the daily Sangbad and noted columnist Khandaker Muniruzzaman was laid to rest at Mirpur Intellectuals graveyard in the city today.
He was buried at the graveyard around 5 pm after the namaz-e-janaza on the graveyard premises.
Muniruzzaman died while undergoing treatment for coronavirus at Mugda Medical College Hospital this morning at the age of 72.
Earlier, on October 31, he was admitted to the hospital after contacting corona.
Muniruzzaman started his debut as a journalist in the CPB’s mouthpiece weekly Ekta in 1970.
He had been working as acting editor of the Daily Sangbad for a decade.
Earlier, he was in charge of the editorial department of the Bengali daily.
Muniruzzaman was a member of different professional organisations including the Jatiya Press Club.
