‘Bangabandhu Corner’ inaugurated at Bangladesh High Commission in Mauritius

DHAKA, Nov 18, 2020 (BSS) – A ‘Bangabandhu Corner’ has been inaugurated at the Bangladesh High Commission in Mauritius in the memory of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Lord Mayor of Port Louis Mahfooz Moussa Kader Saib inaugurated the corner as the chief guest on Tuesday, said a press release here today.

Bangladesh High Commissioner to Mauritius Rezina Ahmed presided over the function.

In the beginning of the event, a munajaat was offered seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members who were assassinated on August 15, 1975.

Administrative officer of the mission Mohammad Jahangir Alam conducted the munajaat.

Paying rich tribute to the memory of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Mahfooz Moussa said Bangabandhu’s life and works will inspire the new generation.

He expressed hope that the existing good relations between the two friendly countries- Bangladesh and Mauritius – would remain intact.

Port Louis deputy mayor, chief executive officer and municipality members, mission officials and expatriate Bangladeshis were present at the event.
