DINAJPUR, Sept 19, 2017 (BSS) – Police, in special drives from Monday
night to this morning, arrested 18 persons including two activists of Jamaat-e-Islami from six upazilas of the district.

Police officials familiar with the drives said they were picked up on
various charges.

During the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested five persons, Khansama police two persons including an activist of Jamaat-e-Islami, Hakimpur police three, Birganj police three, Phulbari police four and Kaharole police arrested another activist of Jamaat-e-Islami.

Meanwhile, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive recovered 200 bottles Phensidyl in an abandoned condition from Hili railway station in Hakimpur upazila during the period.

Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending
with different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.

The arrestees were sent to jail.
