Lawmakers urge nation to remain alert for conspiracy against Bangabandhu’s family

SANGSAD BHABAN, Nov 15, 2020 (BSS) – Both treasury and opposition lawmakers today urged the nation to be aware so that the rest of Bangabandhu’s family members would not fall in any further conspiracy.

The anti-liberation forces had killed Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and most of his family members on August 15 in 1975 and the conspirators are still being involved in conspiracy to kill the rest of Bangabandhu’s family members, they said while addressing the discussion on Bangabandhu brought by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina under section 147 of Rules of Procedure in the Jatiya Sangsad here.

“The nation will have to be remain alert for further conspiracy against Bangabandhu’s family members – Sheikh Hasina, Sheikh Rehana and other relatives”, said M Imajuddin Pramanik of Naogaon-4.

The conspirators are not remaining idle, they are hatching conspiracy to kill the remaining alive family members of Bangabandhu, said the veteran ruling party leader.

“So it is our duty to save their lives from any unexpected incident”, Pramanik added.

Professor M Ali Asharaf of Cumilla-7 told the Jatiya Sangsad that the democracy has emerged in the country today with the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and she opened a door towards progress.

Seeking eternal peace of the department souls of Bangabandhu and his family members, deputy leader of the opposition Golam Mohammad Kader said the conspirators had tried to halt the development of the country, but they could not become succeed.

“We have decided to observe the death anniversary of Bangabandhu officially this year as Bangabandhu was not a leader of a particular party”, the deputy leader said in his speech.

Taking part in the discussion, Begum Matia Chowdhury said once Henry Kissinger had termed the newly independent Bangladesh as bottomless basket, but now the country is self-sufficient in food production.

The independence of the country is a an epic, Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzaque said adding various movements before the independence like the Language Movement in 1952, education movement in 1962 and six-point charter movement in 1966 are the various episodes of the epic led by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

He said the conspirators including Ziaur Rahman had distorted the spirit of the Liberation War on behalf of Pakistan after the assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

“None would undermine the great leader Bangabandhu as he will remain alive in the country as a diamond forever”, he added.

At present, the minister said Bangabandhu’s daughter has taken forward the country, he said, saying that “We are pledge bound that the country would be a developed one within the stipulated time under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.”

Participating in the discussion, opposition lawmaker Kazi Feroz Rashid said the people who tried to erase Bangabandhu from the history after committing his assassination but he [Bangabandhu] will remain with the history of the nation.

He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working to fulfill the dream of Bangabandhu as the people had sacrificed a lot for liberating the country.

Chief Whip Nur-E Alam Chowdhury of Madaripur-1, Wasika Ayesha Khan of women seat-31 and Shafiqur Rahman of Chandpur-4, among others, spoke on the occasion.
