Sedition case against those violating constitution: Amu

DHAKA, Nov 5, 2020 (BSS)- Awami League Advisory Council member, 14-party coordinator and spokesperson, Amir Hossain Amu today said persons those are violating the constitution must be sued with sedition cases.

While addressing a virtual discussion organized by the alliance partners on the occasion of Jail Killing Day today here, the veteran AL leader said “After the assassination of Bangabandhu along with his family members and killing of the national leaders, it was proved that the target of the massacres were not a personal agenda rather transformation of independent Bangladesh into a new Pakistan without the leadership of Bengalis,” he said.

Alliance leaders Tofail Ahmed, Rashed Khan Menon, Hasanul Haque Inu and Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya Birbikram, among others, were also present at the meeting, a press release said.

“Ziaur Rahman had committed a heinous crime in the history of Bangladesh by politically rehabilitating those involved in Bangabandhu’s assassination and jail killing. Later Begum Khaleda Zia followed his footsteps. They both were the patrons of politics of murder,” Amu added.

In his speech Rashed Khan Menon said, “Anti liberation forces killed the four national leaders to avenge the defeat of the Liberation War and to hinder the progress of independent Bangladesh.”

Pointing at BNP and Jamaat Hasanul Huq Inu said those who do not respect the memory of Bangabandhu and the four national leaders, they are the patrons of murderers and ill-politics.

Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya demanded for a commission to find out the real culprits of Bangabandhu’s assassination and killing of four national leaders.

The meeting was chaired by Awami League Liberation War Affairs Secretary Mrinal Kanti Das.

Leaders of 14 parties including Awami League Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Jatiya Party (JP) General Secretary Sheikh Shahidul Islam, among others, addressed the meeting.
