Science, technology fair begins in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Oct 28, 2020 (BSS) – A three-day national science and technology fair began at Gaibandha Govt. Boys’ High School here on Tuesday amid much enthusiasm among the students, teachers and the visitors.

District administration has arranged the fair with the theme of ‘Modern Waste Management, the Usage of Science and Technology’ at the directive of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

The objective of the fair is to widely spread a message about the significance of scientific applications in the daily life of the people and display all the activities, efforts and achievements in the field of science for welfare of the people.

The other objectives of the fair also include giving an opportunity to the science-minded citizens, encouraging the people as well as popularizing science and technology.

A discussion meeting was also held at the hall room of the school in the afternoon with additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Alamgir Kabir Saikat in the chair.

DC Abdul Matin attended the function as the chief guest and general secretary of district Awami League Abu Bakar Siddique was present as the special guest.

The function was also addressed among others by additional police super Abu Khayer, district education officer Md. Enayet Hossain, head teacher of the school Shahana Banu, head teacher of Gaibandha GOVT. Girls’ High School Shushanta Kumar Dev, while assistant commissioner of the DC office Shahin Delwar was the moderator.
