Public university will take entry tests

DHAKA, Oct 17, 2020 (BSS) – Public universities will hold admission
test for enrolling first year students across the country.

Vice-chancellors of public universities have decided in principle
that entry tests will be held and the date and method of exams will be
announced later, VCs’ told BSS after a virtual meeting of Bangladesh
Bishwabidyalaya Parishad, an association of public university VCs’.

Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) VC Prof
Mohammad Rafiqul Alam, president of the body, said that they have
decided that admission test to enroll students at universities will
take place but it was not decided how the tests will be conducted
whether in person or online.

In the meeting, discussions were also took place about a software,
proposed by the VC of Bangabandhu Digital University, to hold
examination online and the VCs were seen to be agreed to go for it if
installation is possible.

However, Dhaka University (DU) is yet to decide whether they will go
for admission test or not. VC Dr Akhtaruzzaman said, “We have deans
committee meeting tomorrow. We will take decision about the way,
process and condition of enrolling first year students to the
university very soon”

CUET VC Rafiqul Alam said that the Bangladesh Bishwabidyalaya
Parishad will sit in another meeting soon to discuss about method of
admission.
