If implemented duly PM’s plan to end poverty, hunger will bear fruit: Shahab

MOULVIBAZAR, Oct 10, 2020 (BSS)- Environment, Forests and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin today said that there will be no unemployed, homeless and foodless people in the country if Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s plans are implemented.

He was speaking as the chief guest at a function organized by the district’s Juri Upazila administration today, said a press release here.

The function was organized to distribute a total of 33.5 metric tons of GR rice at the rate of 500 kg in 67 puja madaps, grant to non-MPO teachers and distribute house keys among the homeless.

Mentioning that the quality of life of the people has improved during the Awami League regime, the minister said that, “The country’s foreign reserves have reached a maximum of 40 billion even during the epidemic due to the good management of the government,” the release added.

“In this country of harmony, the Durga puja has been celebrated peacefully since time immemorial,” he said.

The minister also urged people to stay safe during the pandemic and said, “This year, the puja should be celebrated subject to compliance with government guidelines and the 26-point directive of the National Worship Celebration Council.”

The function was chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Al Imran Rahul Islam.

Upazila Chairman MA Moeed Faruk, Women Vice Chairman Ranjita Sharma and Vice Chairman Rinku Ranjan Das also attended the function, among others.
