DHAKA, Oct 6, 2020 (BSS) – Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal today assured that investigation into the repression on a woman at Begumganj, Noakhali will be neutral and fair.

“None will be spared over the incident and investigation into the matter will be neutral and fair,” he told journalists at a briefing at his secretariat office here.

The minister said members of the law enforcement agencies arrested the accused immediately after the allegation of repression on a woman in Noakhali came into the light.

Everyone including local administration, district deputy commissioner, upazila nirbahi officer and superintendent of police are taking action against the culprits, he said.

Replying to a question, he said victims usually try to hide such incidents and they do not want to disclose the matter to law enforcers because of social stigma.

“When it came to our knowledge and our law enforcers saw it, they took quick steps and arrested the criminals,” he added.

The minister said people, who are involved in such misdeeds, are miscreants and they have no identities. The government will ensure exemplary punishment of those culprits, he added.

Law enforcement agencies have so far arrested a total of six people including Badal and ‘Delwar Bahini’ chief Delwar in connection with the repression incident.
