8 members of snatching gang arrested in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, Oct 5, 2020 (BSS)- Kotwali thana of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested eight professional snatchers from Station Road area in the city today.
The arrested persons were identified as Md. Badiul Alam, 26, Md. Taraq, 27, Md Mamun, 22, Jewel Das, 26, Ashif alias Sakib, 20, Mehedi Hasan,23, Ripon Duto, 20 and Md Sohel, 25.
The arrested persons are accused in several cases in different police stations in the city, Mohammad Mohsin, officer in charge of Kotwali thana said.
OC Mohsin said that based on secret information, the raid was carried out at old railway station area while they were taking preparation to commit a robbery.
During the operation, eight members of the professional snatcher gang were arrested with six knives and a toy pistol.
A case was filed against them with Kotwali thana, said OC Mohammad Mohsin.
