Dream of Sonar Bangla won’t be successful without Sheikh Hasina: Khalid

DHAKA, Sept 26, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Cultural Affairs K M Khalid said if Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had not been born, Bangabandhu’s journey to build a `Sonar Bangla’ would not have been successful.

He was speaking at a discussion organised by Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote at the National Press Club in the capital today on the occasion of the 74th birth anniversary of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the 40th founding anniversary of Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote.

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen attended the programme as the chief guest.

Khalid said, “Bangladesh would not have been born as an independent country without the birth of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangabandhu’s dream of building a Sonar Bangla would not have been successful without the birth of Sheikh Hasina.”

Enunciating Sheikh Hasina as a successful statesman in the world Khalid said, “She has always excelled in food security, peace agreements, maritime conquests, women’s empowerment, economic development and most importantly the protection of the dignity of freedom.”

He further said Sheikh Hasina has been dealing with the Corona virus pandemic and the flood situation with utmost success.

Wishing the Prime Minister longevity and overall well-being, he said, “Her survival is more important for the country than our survival. As long as the country is in the hands of Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh will not lose its way. ”

Awami League Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi and former Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League General Secretary Md. Shah Alam Murad attended the programme as special guests with Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote President and cultural personality Falguni Hamid in the chair.
