NARSINGDI, Sept 24, 2020 (BSS) – Department of Women Affairs of Narsingdi
under its women assistant programme has provided training to helpless women
over different types of handicraft in order to make them self-reliant.
Deputy Director of Department of Women Affairs Salina Akter said since the
inception of the year-long course in 1990, the women affairs department has
imparted training to 5,000 destitute women.
The women are being imparted training on tailoring, block-boutique and
embroidery at four training centres in the district.
Moreover, the department also provides training to women on mobile phone
servicing during its three-month long course.
The department also provides easy-term loan to these women so that they
can initiate their business.
