Construction work of upazila parishad complex inaugurated in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Sept 24, 2020 (BSS) – The construction work of a four-storied Sadar upazila parishad complex has started on the premises of the upazila parishad here.

Whip of the Jatiya Sangsad Mahabub Ara Begum Gini formally inaugurated the construction work of the building through unveiling a plaque on Wednesday as the chief guest.

Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) would implement the work at the cost of Taka 5.20 crore.

Speaking on the occasion, whip Mahabub Ara Begum Gini said the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had been implementing huge development works in the country since 2009.

She also urged all to support the present government and to strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to turn the country into a middle-income one by 2021 and developed one by 2041 side by side with achieving the sustainable development goals by 2030, declared by UNDP.

Deputy commissioner Abdul Matin, Sadarupazila parishad chairman Shah Sarwar Kabir, executive engineer Ahsan Kabir, Sadar UNO Prasun Kumar Chakrabartee, political leaders, public representatives and upazila level officials including journalists were present.

Executive engineer of LGED Ahsan Kabir told the BSS that the construction work of the complex would be completed by March, 2022.
