DHAKA, Sept 23, 2020 (BSS) – The east African nation Rwanda has
expressed its keen interest to strengthen bilateral relations as well
as increase trade ties with Bangladesh.

Rwanda’s foreign minister Vincent Biruta showed the interest at a
telephone conversation with his Bangladesh counterpart Dr AK Abdul
Momen on Tuesday, a foreign ministry’s press release said.

During the talks, Bangladesh foreign minister urged Rwanda to import
pharmaceutical products, PPE, readymade garment and bicycles from
Bangladesh, saying that the present Bangladesh government is very much
business friendly.

Momen invited Rwandan manufacturers and enterprises to invest in
Bangladesh special economic zones.

Both the sides laid emphasis on exchange of trade delegations and
discussed on holding Foreign Office Consultation (FOC) between the two
countries.

The Rwandan foreign minister assured Dhaka of continuing its support
for safe and dignified repatriation of forcefully displaced Rohingyas
from Bangladesh to Myanamr.

Bangladesh has recently given the concurrent charge as non-resident
High Commissioner to Rwanda to Bangladesh High Commissioner to Kenya.
