CHATTOGRAM, Sept 13, 2020 (BSS) – A divisional special court here today framed charges against former MP Abdur Rahman Bodi for concealing information of undisclosed income of Taka 1,10,24,285 in a case filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in 2007.
District and Session Judge Mohammad Ismail Hossain, the acting divisional special judge of Chattogram, framed the charges against Bodi.
The court has fixed October 15 for examining witnesses in the case.
Abdur Rahman Badi was present in the dock during the charge-framing. His lawyer Rafiqul Islam told the court that his client was innocent. He was involved in this case because of the conspiracy of his rivals.
On the other hand, ACC lawyer Kazi Sanwar Hossain Lavlo told the court that the ACC’s investigation had found evidences of hiding information and acquiring undisclosed assets by Badi.
After hearing both the parties, the court rejected the plea of Badi’s lawyer.

The ACC had filed the case against Badi on September 11 in 2007.
Abdur Rahman Badi is a two-time elected Member of Parliament (MP) from Cox’s Bazar-4 (Ukhia-Teknaf) constituency. He did not get nomination in the December 2018 elections in the face of fierce criticism of his different activities.
