DHAKA, July 1, 2018 (BSS) – Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed
Nasim today laid emphasis on taking integrated programmes among Local
Government Division, Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and
Directorate General of Family Planning (DGFP) to control birth rate of poor
people living in slams areas.

He also stressed the need for coordinated efforts between the DGHS and
DGFP over taking family planning programmes for slum dwellers of city
corporations.

The minister was addressing the executive committee meeting of the
National Population Council at the Secretariat here, said an official
release.

Addressing the meeting, Nasim said more people are getting town-oriented

the guardians to prevent child marriage.

Local Government Division Secretary Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan, Medical
Education and Family Welfare Division Secretary GM Saleh Uddin and DGHS
Director General Professor Dr Abul Kalam Azad joined the meeting, among
others.

Later, the health minister presided over a meeting on implementation of
