Army emerge champions in Corona Cup Rugby

DHAKA, Sept 7, 2020 (BSS)- Bangladesh Army emerged champions in the Corona Cup Rugby competition beating Bangladesh Ansar rugby team by 45-0 points held today (Monday) at Polton ground adjoining Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) in the city.

Flame Boys Club placed at third position while Victoria Sporting Club finished fourth position in the day-long meet, organised and sponsored by Bangladesh Ruby Federation Union (BRFU).

Earlier, National Sports Council Secretary Mohammad Masud Karim formally inaugurated the meet as the chief while BBRFU president Mohammad Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin MP distributed the prizes in the closing ceremony of the competition.

A total of four teams – Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Ansar, Flame Boys Club and Victoria Sporting Club – took part in the round robin league.

On the day, BRFU conducted a day-long COVID-19 awareness programme by distributing masks among the general people at the BNS area.
