DHAKA, Sept 6, 2020 (BSS) – Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzaque said under the prudent leadership of Sheikh Hasina the agri-friendly government has established good governance in fertilizer management.
He said this while addressing a meeting of the National Coordination and Advisory Committee on Fertilizers at Ministry of Agriculture here today.
Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder, Former Agriculture Minister Begum Matia Chowdhury, Industries Secretary KM Ali Azam, Fisheries and Livestock Secretary Rawnak Mahmud and other members of the committee were present at the meeting.
Razzaque said the government has given utmost importance to agricultural production when came to power in 2008.
The price of DAP fertilizer has been reduced from Tk 90 to Tk 28, TSP from Tk 80 to Tk 22 and potassium from Tk 70 to Tk 15.It was a landmark decision of the government, he added.
The meeting redefined the demand for chemical fertilizers in the current fiscal year 2020-2021 for the need of intensive and extensive cultivation.
The meeting decided to procure additional 1 lakh metric tonnes of urea and 2 lakh metric tonnes of DAP fertilizer.
