120 officials upgraded to deputy secretary
DHAKA, Sept 1, 2020 (BSS) – The government today promoted 120 officials, who were merged with the admin cadre after demolishing the economic cadre, with the rank of senior assistant secretary and its equivalent to the rank of deputy secretary (DS).
The Public Administration Ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard today.
The newly upgraded officials have been attached to the Public Administration Ministry as Officer on Special Duty (OSD). The officials have been asked to join their offices online.
On November 13, 2018, the ministry issued an order merging the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) economic and admin cadre. Since then, the upgradation of the economic cadres to the rank of DS were pending.
