Prof Arefin mourns death of journalist Rahat Khan

DHAKA, Aug 28, 2020 (BSS) – Dhaka University former Vice-Chancellor
Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique expressed profound shock and sorrow at
the death of noted journalist and litterateur Rahat Khan.

In a condolence message, he said the nation has lost an honest and
devoted journalist at the death of Rahat Khan.

Khan’s death has created a vacuum in the arena of journalism which
never be filled, he said, adding that his (Khan’s) contributions to
the field of journalism and literature will always be remembered.

Prof Arefin, also chairman of the board of directors of the
national news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), paid rich
tributes to the memory of Rahat Khan, who also served as the chairman
of the news agency, saying the journalist sincerely discharged his
duties as the chairman.

Rahat Khan died of old age complications at his Eskatan Garden
residence in the city tonight at the age of 79.
