Tour guides, trained with historic knowledge of Mujibnagar, will also be assigned while Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB) in collaboration with the local administration is being involved in carrying out the physical work there, he said.

On April 17 in 1971, at the Mujibnagar, the then Baidyanathtala mango grove of Meherpur , the oath of office of first Bangladesh government was administered with Syed Nazrul Islam as the acting president and Tajuddin Ahmed as the prime minister to wage the war with crucial Indian supports.
