HANOI, Aug. 30, 2017 (BSS/Xinhua) – Tan Vu-Lach Huyen in Vietnam’s northern Hai Phong city, the country’s longest sea-crossing bridge, will open to traffic on its National Day, Sept. 2, the municipal authorities said on Wednesday.
Capitalized at over 11,849 billion Vietnamese dong (524.3 million U.S. dollars), the 5.4-km bridge is to connect developing areas in Hai Phong’s northern part with Lach Huyen international deep-water seaport under construction, Dinh Vu industrial park and Hanoi-Hai Phong expressway.
The six-lane bridge, which stretches from the expressway to Hai Phong’s Cat Hai Island, will shorten time needed to travel to the island to 10 minutes from the current several hours by ferry.
