90th birth anniversary of Bangamata observed at JU
SAVAR, Aug 8, 2020 (BSS) – The 90th birth anniversary of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, wife of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was observed today on Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus with due respect and befitting manner.
To mark the day, JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Farzana Islam paid homage by placing a wreath at the portrait of Bangamata on Bangamata Begum FazilatunnesaMujib hall premises this morning.
Later, provost of Bangamata Begum Fajilatunnesa Mujib hall Professor M Mujibur Rahman with the hall administrative body placed wreath and stood in front of portrait of Begum Mujib with solemn.
During placing wreath, JU VC Professor Farzana Islam said “Bangabandhu and Bangamata are inseparable. Bangamata had played a pivotal role in building the nation, staying beside Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Rahman as a close companion.
JU Proctor ASM Firoj Ul Hasan, provosts of different dormitories and other teachers of the university were present, among others.
