Booters to go through further COVID-19 test Monday

DHAKA, Aug. 8, 2020 (BSS)- Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) in order to be sure of their booters COVID-19 result, decided to conduct further COVID-19 test of all of their footballers, coaches and officials in two recognised hospitals on Monday (August 10).

The national team’s management committee in a zoom emergency meeting today took the decision after eighteen out of twenty four footballers tested COVID-19 positive.

“We are also surprised like you by the results as so many COVID-19 positive tested among the players, but one thing we need to keep in mind that many times the results show false  …. so on this basis, we’ll further conduct test of all players and officials of the camp in a two recognised centers on Monday …. hope we’ll get the results on the following day (Tuesday) and then we’ll able to say about the players who are positive and who are negative, said Nabil, chairman of the national team management.

Replying to a question Nabil said among the players who will be tested two negative and two positive result, will be isolated there after negotiating with our medical committee … or those who will be found one positive and one negative result, will be tested again after three days.

The national team’s committee’s chairman informed that they had a discussion with the coaches who are expected to arrive in Bangladesh on August 17. The coaches will also go through a COVID-19 test four or five days after their arrival ….. then after negotiating with our medial committee  we’ll see whether the camp can be started or not … we’ll also keep an option open to recruit more players if need and we are already continuing talk with the coaches in this regards, Nabil concluded.

BFF vice president and national team’s committee’s deputy chairman Tabith Awal, BFF and national team’s committee’s member Satyajit Das Rupu, BFF  medical committee’s deputy chairman Dr Ali Imran and BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag were present in the zoom meeting.
