Muzibul for building children as country’s resource

KHULNA, August 29, 2017(BSS) – State Minister for Labour and Employment Md Muzibul Haque today urged everybody for building children as resource of the country as they are the future of Bangladesh.

He was speaking while inaugurating a project styled ‘Project for Life’ of World Vision Bangladesh, an NGO, at CSS Ava centre in the city.

World Vision will implement the project as an assistance organisation of Bangladesh government for eradicating risky child labour.

Under the project, World Vision will give assistance to 18,000 children who are engaged in risky child labour.

The four-year-long project will work at different upazilas in Khulna, Jessore and Bagerhat districts.

Terming child labour eradicating as one of priority project of the incumbent government, the chief guest said government is firmed to eradicate risky child labour from the country by 2021 as well as all kind of child labour by 2025.

The children must be freed from all sorts of cruelties and inhuman behaviours, violation, repression and deprivation for building them as worthy citizens of the nation, he added.

Joint Secretary of the Ministry Khondokar Mostan Hussain screened a power-point presentation showing different activities of the government taken to eradicate child labour.

Khulna Divisional Commissioner Abdus Samad chaired the function while Deputy Commissioner Amin ul Ahsan, Additional DIG Habibur Rahman, among others, spoke on the occasion.

Later, the chief guest distributed cheque and income-generating ingredients among some children from Sramik Kallyan Foundation Fund.
