South Korea beat Germany 2-0 in World Cup

DHAKA, June 27, 2018 (BSS) – Defending champions Germany crashed out the FIFA World Cup 2018 when suffered a shock 0-2 defeat at hand of South Korea on Wednesday at Kazan Arena, Kazan in Russia.

Germany did not look like team who could turn the tables from kick off and despite an improved second half performance, they could not get past a well drilled South Korea defence.

VAR handing South Korea the opening goal in the 91st minute as Y Kim broke the dead lock (1-0) before Son netted a second six minutes later, deep into injury time (2-0).

The Germans – players and fans – are in tears and they have never crashed out World Cup at group stages. They have never really looked like defending their title and they will head home now.

With this victory, South Korea opened their account with three points from three matches while Germany had to remain at their previous credit of three points playing the same number of matches.

Earlier, Germany lost to Mexico by 0-1 goal in their group opening match and beat Sweden by 2-1 goals in their group second match.

On the other hand, South Korea lost to Sweden by 0-1 goal in their group opening match and suffered a 1-2 goal defeat to in their group second match.

South Korea finished at third position in their group for having better goal averages then Germans while shockingly Germany finished at the bottom of the tables.

In the other group F match Sweden beat Mexico 3-0 to finish as champion while Mexico qualifies for the second round as group runners-up.
