Jabbar opens virtual int’l stamp exhibition-2020

DHAKA, July 29, 2020 (BSS)- Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar today inaugurated online international stamp exhibition-2020 on Zoom platform, saying that postal stamps signify historical reflection of renowned personalities and events for the new generation.

Under the auspices of Bangladesh Philatelic Federation (BPF), the exhibition was held online for the first time, organized by the Bangladesh National Philatelic Association, a press release said.

A total of 13 countries including Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Australia, Bahrain, Canada, France, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Nepal, Sweden, Thailand and Sri Lanka participated in the exhibition.

Speaking on the occasion, Mustafa Jabbar said commemorative postage stamps were historical reflection of important personalities and events for the new generation as well as an extraordinary bridge between history, heritage and culture of a nation.

Bangladesh Post Office (BPO) Director General Shudhangshu Shekhar Bhadra and Bangladesh National Philatelic Association President Prof Dr Kazi Shariful Alam spoke on the occasion.

Bangladesh National Philatelic Association Director (International Affairs) Monirul Islam moderated the event.
