Shahed’s main associate Tarek Shibli confesses crimes
DHAKA, July 24, 2020 (BSS) – Regent Group chairman Md Shahed alias
Shahed Karim’s main associate Tarikul Islam alias Tarek Shibli gave
confessional statement today in a case lodged over issuing fake
COVID-19 test results, certificates and realizing money from patients
illegally in the name of coronavirus tests and treatments.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Masudur Rahman recorded Shibli’s
statement as investigation officer and detective branch inspector SM
Gaffar Alam produced the accused before the court and pleaded to
record his statement under Section 164.
The court later sent Shibli, also the public relation officer of
Regent Hospital, to jail.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Jasim on July 16 had put Tarek
Shibli on a seven-day remand in the case. Shibli, who was arrested on
July 8, was remanded for five-day on July 10.
