30,000 pieces Yaba tablets seized in Sylhet
SYLHET, July 23, 2020 (BSS) – The detective branch of police recovered 30,000 pieces of contraband yaba tablets worth about Taka 90 lakh from Shimultola village of Bishwanath upazila on Wednesday night.
The arrested – Md. Khaled Mia, 23, is the son of Fazar Ali from Sylhet’s Bishwanath upazila.
Sylhet Police Super Md. Farid Uddin said on a tip-off, police conducted a raid in Bishwanath upazila on Wednesday night.
He said Dulu, a drug dealer from Bishwanath Upazila, brought this consignment and kept it with his brother Khaled. Police after raiding the house of Khaled in Shimultala village recovered the tablets from his possession.
Although Khaled initially denied the allegation, 30,000 pieces of yaba were recovered from a cupboard in his house.
Besides, cash of Taka 29,000 and a motorcycle was seized from his possession.
The arrested youth gave a confessional statement to the police about his involvement with drug smuggling and he was sent to court today.
