Necessary initiatives taken to support farmers in flood-affected areas: Razzaque
DHAKA, July 20, 2020 (BSS) – Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzaque today said the target of Aman paddy production will be achieved if the flood situation does not deteriorate further.
“The government has taken necessary initiative to support the farmers in flood-hit areas, aiming to achieve the target of paddy production,” he told a views-exchange meeting through online, said a press release.
The minister said the ongoing flood inundated a vast tract of farming land, he said, adding, relevant organizations are working to minimize the damage of crops caused by flood.
Agriculture Secretary Md Nasiruzzaman, officials of Department of Agriculture Extension and other organizations, among others, joined the meeting.
