France finish top ahead of Denmark after World Cup stalemate
DHAKA, June 26, 2018 (BSS) – France topped their group as their Group C
match against Denmark ended in a goalless draw in the FIFA World Cup 2018
held on Tuesday at Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, Russia.
Despite the draw, France emerged as group Champions with seven points from
three matches while Denmark bagged five points playing the same number of
matches.
Both sides are now waiting on tonight’s results to see who they will face
in the last 16. However, France will play on June 30 at 3pm in Kazan, while
Denmark will play on July 1 at 7pm in Nizhny Novgorod.
Croatia, Nigeria Argentina or Iceland lie in wait.
Earlier, France beat Australia by 2-1 goals in their group opening match and
defeated Peru by 1-0 goals in their group second match.
On the other hand, Denmark beat Peru by 1-0 goal in their group opening
match and played out to a 1-1 goal draw with Australia in their group second
match.
