Met office forecasts rainfall

DHAKA, Aug 28, 2017 (BSS) – Light to moderate rain or thundershowers
accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places in Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, Rangpur and Sylhet divisions in 24 hours as of 9 am tomorrow, a met office release said today.

It also predicts that moderately heavy to heavy falls is likely to occur at few places across the country including Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Dhaka divisions.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country during the time.

Country’s highest temperature on Sunday was recorded 37.5 degree Celsius at Rangamati and today’s minimum temperature 24.4 degree Celsius at Sylhet. The highest rainfall was recorded 63 millimeter at Rangpur in last 24 hour ending at 9 am today.

Meanwhile, a warning message of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said, “Rain or thundershowers with temporary south or southerly gusty or squally wind speed 45-60 kph is likely to occur in the regions of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogra, Tangail, Mynmensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Kushtia, Jessore, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Comilla, Noakhali, Chittagong, Cox’sbazar And Sylhet wherein riverports shall hoist cautionary signal number one.”

The sun sets at 6.21pm today and rises at 5.39am tomorrow in the capital city of Dhaka.
