Woman crushed under freight train in Gopalganj
GOPALGANJ, July 12, 2020 (BSS) – A woman was killed by getting crushed under a freight train near Tilchhara area in Kashiani Upazila of the district today afternoon.
The victim was identified as- Rekha Begum, 32, wife of Ujjwal Sheikh of Khagrabaria village in Kashiani upazila.
Kashiani Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Azizur Rahman told BSS that the accident occurred when a passenger filled local vehicle known as ‘Nosimon’ was crossing the railway line and was hit by the freight train, killing her on the spot.
Another person was injured and was sent to Kashiani Upazila Health Complex for first aid.
The accident has been reported to the railway police, and the family members of the deceased took the body home, said the official.
