One killed as fishing trawler capsizes in Hatia
NOAKHLAI, June 30, 2020 (BSS) – One person was killed and another
minor boy remained missing as a fishing trawler capsized at Nijhum
Dwip under Hatia upazila in Noakhali district today.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) at the Hatia police station Abul Khayer
said, the victim was Rasel Uddin Bechu, 25, of Amtali Bazar of
Jahajmara union.
A fishing trawler carrying at least 13 fishermen capsized about 12
km south of Nijhum Dwip. Locals recovered the body of Rasel and
rescued 11 fishermen alive, he added.
“However, another minor boy –Md Shohag — is still missing.
Members of Coast Guard and River Police are conduction operation.”
added the OC.
