Don’t come to Dhaka without essential works: Khalid

DHAKA, May 31, 2020 (BSS)-State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury

today urged the people to avoid visiting the capital Dhaka without any essential

purpose.

“We are all at risk of being infected by the deadly novel coronavirus. So,

please do not come to the capital Dhaka without essential works,” he told a

programme at Sadarghat launch terminal in the city here.

Miah and Director General of Department of Shipping Commodore Syed Ariful Islam,

among others, were present at the function.

Khalid said six disinfectant tunnels have been installed at Sadarghat launch

terminal as well as others terminals.

He urged the owners of ships, laborers and passengers to follow the health

guidelines in a proper manner on their movement.

Later, he inaugurated the “disinfectant tunnel” in which sodium hypochlorite

will be sprayed to check the spread of Covid-19 at Sadarghat.

The government has a plan to install 14 disinfectant tunnels at Sadarghat

Terminal.
