MEHERPUR, Aug 22, 2017 (BSS) – A man was killed and a woman injured in a road accident on Chuadanga-Meherpur Road in Notun Bus Terminal area under Sadar upazila of the district today.
The deceased was identified as Jakir Hossein, 35, an inhabitant of Hizooli village under the upazila.
Local people said the accident occurred when a shallow-engine run human hauler, locally known as ‘Algamon’ plunged into a roadside ditch in the area as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving the duo injured on the spot.
The wounded were sent to Meherpur General Hospital where Jakir succumbed to his injuries.
