Ex-Victoria footballer Noor Islam passes away

DHAKA, May 30, 2020 (BSS)- Former footballer of Victoria Sporting Club Mohammad Noor Islam died of a brain haemorrhage at his residence in Dhaka on Thursday.

“Noor Islam, who played for Victoria in the 1970s, breathed his last at his Jurain residence in the capital on Thursday morning at the age of 68,” said a Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) press release today.

Noor Islam, who had also been suffering from kidney ailments, left behind his wife, three sons and a host of relatives and well- wishers to mourn his death.

He was laid to eternal rest at the Jurain Graveyard after Esha prayers on the same day, the release added.

BFF President Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin and its other office-bearers and staff expressed deep shock and sorrow at the demise of Noor Islam.

They prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
