BAF sends contingent to UN peace keeping mission

DHAKA, May 28, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) is going to
send a contingent consist of three Armed Version MI-171 helicopters
equipped with Night Vision System and 125 personnel for United Nations
Peacekeeping Mission deployed in Central African Republic (MINUSCA).

For the first time with the cooperation of UN permanent mission in
New York, Bangladeshi peacekeepers went to UN peacekeeping mission by
a chartered plane of Bangladesh Biman Airlines, said an ISPR press
release.

The release said this is for the first time the Peacekeepers of
Bangladesh have been deployed in the mission by a UN Chartered Flight
of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat
addressed the members of contingent at Bangladesh Air Force Base
Bashar today before their departure.

The Chief of Air Staff advised peacekeepers to discharge their
duties with honesty, professionalism, sincerity and thus bring good
reputation for Bangladesh Air Force as well as for the country.

Thereafter, he participated in a special munajat arranged for
success of the contingent. Among others, Principal Staff Officers, Air
Officers of Dhaka area, senior BAF officers of Air Headquarters and
Bases were present on the occasion.
