DHAKA, May 15, 2020 (BSS) – Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) will
conduct combing operations from tomorrow to protect the city dwellers from
dengue through Aedes mosquito control.

“From tomorrow, the combing operations will be conducted in one ward from
each of the regions 1 to 5 of the DNCC. Considering Ramadan and Coronavirus,
combing operations will be conducted in five wards till Eid,” said DNCC Mayor
Atiqul Islam while speaking at an online meeting today.

However, he said, this campaign will be conducted in every ward of DNCC
after Eid.

Atiqul Islam called upon the newly elected ward councilors and reserved
seat councilors to make the campaign a resounding success.

He said the main goal of the combing operation is to benefit the city
dwellers through the implementation of the election manifesto.

“We have a lot of expectations from the city dwellers. So you have to give
proof not in words but in deeds. People’s hopes and aspirations have to be
realized,” he added.

He said each councilor will personally monitor the mosquito control
activities.

Regarding the distribution of relief during the coronavirus crisis, the
mayor said, the government is showing zero tolerance in the distribution of
relief. “Those who really need relief, we will have to give them relief,” he
added.

He called upon councilors to come face to face with the people on Facebook
Live once a month.
