2 physicians among 6 more test positive for coronavirus in Rangpur

RANGPUR, April 29, 2020 (BSS) – Six more people, including two physicians and a senior staff nurse, were tested for coronavirus positive at the COVID-19 Laboratory at Rangpur Medical College (RMC) here today.

Besides, none was detected for COVID-19 positive after testing 94 samples of suspected patients at the COVID-19 Laboratory at M Abdur Rahim Medical College ((MARMC) in Dinajpur today.

“We detected six new COVID-19 patients after testing 188 samples at the COVID-19 Laboratory at RMC,” said Chief of the Divisional Coronavirus Service and Prevention Task Force and Principal of RMC Professor Dr. AKM Nurunnabi Laizu.

The newly detected six infected patients included two physicians of Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH) and its one staff nurse and one undertreatment patient, one female patient of Ghoraghat upazila and one male patient of Nawabganj upazila in Dinajpur.

Principal of MARMC Professor Dr. Shibesh Sarker said none was detected coronavirus positive after testing 94 collected samples at the COVID-19 Laboratory at MARMC today.

With detection of the six new coronavirus infected patients today, the total number of COVID-19 patients sharply rose to 117 in all eight districts of Rangpur division.
